What Makes Us Different
Care For Others usually concentrates our fundraising efforts during the fall months. Symbolically a time of hope and harvest and holidays and celebrations, people seem to be the most generous and understanding of the needs of others at this time of year, especially those less fortunate.
It is typically at this time of the year we hear the same question over and over. “What makes Care For Others different? Why should we choose your charity over another one”? My usual response is how much time do you have? We are very proud of the work we do at Care For Others and for many reasons. Those reasons are WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT and we want to tell anyone who will listen.

4th Annual Fundraising Event
Harvest for Hope 2009
October 17th, 2009 marked another successful Care for Others fundraising event. Held at LaMalfa Party Center in Mentor, Ohio, Harvest for Hope 2009 raised more than $40,000 in donations that will be used to give a helping hand to families and individuals across the United States.
The event was filled with amazing prizes, great food and live music by Pieces of Eight. The 215 event attendees had the opportunity to participate in numerous games as well as bid on Chinese and Live auction items. Floor seats at the Cleveland Cavaliers Game, Browns tickets paired with a pre-game tailgate, two Hawaiian vacations, a clam bake for 50, Bruce Springsteen tickets and an adorable puppy were just a few of the great items that our supporters went home with that night.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all event attendees and especially our amazing volunteer staff. Together, we can make a difference and as we say here at Care for Others, "Kindness is Contagious!"

Tailgate Time!

The tailgate package was just one of the great auction items from this past year's Harvest For Hope 2009 fundraising event.

Live Auction Winner - Cleveland Cav's Game

Sara Cheraso and Shaquille O'Neal sharing a moment after a Cleveland Cav's game. Bill Cheraso, Sara's Dad, surprised her with the live auction item he won, a trip to the "Q", at this years Harvest for Hope fundraising event. Next year it could be you standing next to the Big Fella or maybe LeBron....
Both Bill and Sara said it was truly an exciting evening to see everything and everyone so "up close and personal".
Thank you Bill Cheraso for being a super star yourself with all of your support to Care For Others.
Remember doing something for someone else won’t make you Rich but, IT WILL ENRICH YOUR LIFE.
